Issue #8: The Music Issue

In this issue, we turn our attention to music. Four authors address aspects of music not through the analysis of musical works, but through a variety of alternative angles. Whether discussing the radio documentaries of Glenn Gould or the rock novels of Jonathan Lethem, music’s historical relation to formalism or sound art’s recent musicophobia, we are compelled to note that reflection on music enriches, complicates and deepens the issues central to nonsite’s readersautonomy, form, the ontology of the artwork, intentionality, materialism, the critique of affect, the state of the subject, to name a few.

In addition, we include articles by Charles Palermo and Jason Bartulis, on Miro and a super-natural turn in philosophy and theory, respectively.
